Department: Kaiser Unit - 7 West Acute Care
Employment Type: Full Time
Shift: Nights - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS
Nights- 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Position Purpose
On the Kaiser 7 West Unit, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the delegated authority of a registered nurse to perform a nursing function within their scope of practice and assist the nurse in collecting data for a nursing assessment under the supervision of a nurse. The CNA provides quality nursing care to patients; implements specific procedures and programs; coordinates work within the department, as well as with other departments; reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations.
What You Will Do
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

What You Will Do
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting)
- Support care procedures including catheter care, sitz baths, colostomy care, and more
- Apply care products such as compression devices and restraints appropriately
- Set up respiratory and cardiac equipment (e.g., oxygen, suction, EKGs, incentive spirometry)
- Function in both CNA and Health Unit Coordinator roles as assigned
- Current knowledge of nursing skills within their scope of practice. Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications and technologies: Internet, email, word processing, wireless phone, pager. Ability to obtain and retrieve data.
- Effectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend English.
- Effective eye and hand coordination.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize.
- Ability to work well with individuals and groups.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Maryland Board of Nursing
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification
- 1 year of hospital experience (preferred)
- Promote early ambulation and independence in activities of daily living
- Collaborate closely with nursing and therapy teams
- Build meaningful patient connections in a smaller unit
