Nurse Manager (Med/Surg)

Position Purpose:

A Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) Nurse Manager oversees the daily clinical operations, staffing, budgeting, and quality initiatives of a dedicated med-surg unit. They are responsible for hiring, mentoring, and evaluating staff while ensuring evidence-based care. Key duties include enhancing patient outcomes, maintaining safety standards, and fostering collaboration with physicians and nursing teams

What will you do:

• Clinical Leadership & Staffing: Recruit, train, and manage nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate, high-quality care coverage.
• Quality & Patient Care: Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital standards (e.g., patient safety goals, infection control).
• Administrative Management: Manage unit budgets, monitor expenses, and manage unit supplies.
• Staff Development: Conduct performance evaluations, provide mentorship, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Collaboration: Act as a liaison between staff, physicians, and administrative leadership to improve patient outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN), Healthcare Administration, or a related field is typically required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in hospital quality, risk management, or regulatory compliance is crucial.
• Skills: Proficiency in quality management software, electronic health records (EHR), and data analysis tools
