Holy Cross Medical Group is seeking a dynamic clinician-leader to serve as Medical Director of Hematology/Oncology, providing strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for its growing oncology program. The HCMG Site Medical Director (SMD) Hematology/Oncology is principally responsible for working in partnership with the Service Line Chief, Practice Manager and Division Director to give clinical and professional input of their clinical practice/specialty. Reporting directly to the Service Line Chief and in collaboration with the administrative Division Director, has joint responsibility with their administrative dyad partner - the Practice Manager, for overseeing the clinical and administrative aspects of Hematology/Oncology. This includes holding various degrees of accountability for clinical quality of care, patient safety, patient satisfaction, staff and clinician satisfaction, productivity, revenue enhancement, managed care performance, recruitment, assuring adequate patient access and program growth/development and accreditation. In conjunction with the Practice Manager, the SMD will share accountability for practice performance goals and metrics, and for providing leadership for both practice clinicians and staff. The SMD receives extensive support from the practice manager and other members of the HCMG administrative team.
Leadership & Administration (20%)
- Partner with the Service Line Director (administrative dyad) to oversee clinical operations and practice performance
- Provide physician leadership to ensure excellence in:
- Clinical quality and patient safety
- Patient satisfaction and experience
- Staff and clinician engagement
- Productivity and operational efficiency
- Support program growth, development, and accreditation initiatives
- Drive improvements in:
- Revenue cycle performance
- Managed care outcomes
- Access to care and patient throughput
- Participate in recruitment and retention of physicians and clinical staff
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and achieve practice goals, metrics, and strategic initiatives
- Serve as a liaison between physicians, administration, and system leadership
Clinical Responsibilities (80%)
- Provide comprehensive Hematology/Oncology patient care in an outpatient and inpatient setting
- Maintain high standards of clinical excellence and evidence-based care
- Contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration within the cancer program
- Support clinical program development and innovation
- Participate in the call rotation (currently 1:5)
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified in Hematology and/or Oncology
- Unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligible)
- Eligibility for medical staff privileges at Holy Cross Hospital
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Hematology/Oncology
- Prior leadership experience
