Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Coordinator / Project Controls Manager to oversee the administrative, financial, and compliance aspects of large construction projects in Maricopa County. This role acts as the central hub between permitting authorities, subcontractors, project managers, and customers to ensure projects stay compliant, profitable, and on schedule.
This is not a field labor role, but a high-accountability coordination and controls position critical to job execution and financial performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPermitting & Compliance
- Prepare, submit, track, and obtain construction permits with Maricopa County and applicable cities
- Coordinate inspections and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
- Maintain organized permit and inspection records per project
Subcontractor Billing & Controls
- Collect, review, and verify subcontractor invoices
- Confirm work completion through photo documentation and scope verification
- Approve invoices for payment based on contract terms and progress
- Resolve billing discrepancies with subcontractors
Project Monitoring & Quality Verification
- Review job photos and documentation to confirm work quality and completion
- Ensure scope adherence and flag issues for correction
- Track job milestones and deliverables
Customer Communication
- Provide weekly status updates to customers via phone or email
- Set expectations, communicate progress, and address concerns proactively
- Serve as a consistent point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
Job Costing & Financial Reconciliation
- Maintain job-by-job Profit & Loss (P&L) reports
- Reconcile labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and overhead per project
- Identify cost overruns, margin erosion, and improvement opportunities
- Work with management to ensure project profitability targets are met
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in construction administration, project coordination, or project controls
- Familiarity with Maricopa County permitting processes
- Strong understanding of job costing, billing, and P&L reconciliation
- Ability to review construction photos and verify scope completion
- Excellent communication skills for customer and subcontractor interaction
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
