Qualifications:

Holton-Arms seeks experienced Lower School Teacher candidates who excel in fostering strong relationships with students and communicating effectively with parents. Successful candidates will demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and a deep understanding of child development, coupled with the ability to create engaging, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.

  • Embed Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles into your curriculum.

  • Implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

  • Develop and utilize workshop models for teaching and learning.

  • Collaborate with department and division colleagues, administrators, and parents.

  • Serve as an advisor/homeroom teacher, mentor, and role model, fostering a positive learning environment and supporting students’ well-being.

  • Participate in the school’s global education and diversity initiatives.

  • Fulfill assigned duties as required.

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education (a graduate degree is preferred).

  • Experience teaching in grades 3–6.

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working within a homeroom model (Grades 3-5) that involves teaching multiple subjects or a departmental model (Grade 6) focusing on subject specialization.

  • Knowledge of or a willingness to learn competency-based teaching and learning approaches.

  • A demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging, student-centered lessons.

  • Dedication to collaboration and professional growth.

  • A commitment to DEIB and global competencies.

  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds within the community.

  • Personal and professional integrity, openness, and acceptance.

Salary & Benefits

 

The average salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000, the exact salary to be determined based on education and experience.  We use a step scale to determine teacher salary.  Early career teachers are initially compensated less than the listed salary range and highly experienced teachers are compensated more than the listed salary range. Additional stipends are available for coaching, certain club sponsorship and significant commitments outside of the classroom.  Benefits include health insurance with a generous employer contribution to medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurance; 403b retirement savings with an employer match and non-elective contribution; employee assistance program, tuition remission for eligible children; professional development opportunities; paid parental leave after one year of employment; paid sick and personal days; and lunch is provided on school days.
