What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Holt Eye Care?
We are looking for a part time Optometric Technician that would be working up patient's prior to their eye exams.
Training will be 2 week's to get you comfortable in your roll.
Here is a brief description of the job:
- Pretesting patients prior to their eye exams by completing a visual fields, using an auto refractor and using the digital lensometer to get a reading on the patients glasses they bring in.
- Perform digital retinal photo if patient opts to have this done or is offered to the patient.
- Collect visual complaints of patient and previous health history as well as current brand and details of patients contact lens prescription added to their EMR.
- Document visual acuity and load phoropter for the provider.
- Contact lens training with patients new to wearing contact lenses.
- Light duty office cleaning
The hours for this roll would be:
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's 8am-5pm (lunch 12-1pm)
Fridays 8am-2pm
- ONE MANDATORY SATURDAY every other month.
*Hours on Saturday would be 7:50am-1pm*
We will also need coverage for other employee's time off so being flexible is REQUIRED!
- Knowledge of EMR is preferred for use of our software system.
