What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Supervisor - Residential position at Holston Home for Children?
The Program Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and management of personnel assigned to the Boys and Girls Residential. The Program Supervisor will also provide primary care to youth and immediate direction, guidance and support to House Supervisors and Teacher Counselors". The Program Supervisor shall ensure the safety and well-being of youth and provide any necessary direct care during on-duty hours. The Program Supervisor reports to the Administrator of Residential Services.

- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience and minimum of one and a half years residential experience. An associate degree will substitute for nine months of experience, and a bachelor’s degree will substitute for one year of experience.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
- Experience working with children and/or adolescents is required; previous experience in direct care at Holston Home is preferred.
- Must possess satisfactory written and oral communication skills.
- Must have the physical health and capacity to demonstrate regular job attendance and when necessary to physically manage youth’s aggressive or self-injurious behavior.
- Must be able to drive a car/van and possess a class D Tennessee driver's license.
- Must successfully complete CPR and First Aid training and update as prescribed. Must complete all required agency trainings and achieve at least 24 hours training annually.
- Must successfully complete TCI training and update at six months intervals.
- The Program Supervisor position involves a risk of exposure to communicable diseases; therefore, the employee must be familiar with/and practice Universal Health Precautions.
- Must subscribe to the Agency's Mission Statement and Organizational Values.
- Must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the youth.
