What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Marketing Specialist position at Holon Health?
Be Part of Something Radically Different
At Holon Health, we don’t do “business as usual.” We’re a trailblazing healthcare startup reimagining what it means to care: for our clients, our partners, and our people. Everything begins and ends with trust, and we earn it through empathy, honesty, and doing what’s right, even when it’s hard. We provide whole-person care to individuals living with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), grounded in deep compassion, community wisdom, and an unshakable belief in second chances.
Our approach throws out the playbook. We integrate medical, behavioral, and social care. We prioritize prevention and recovery. We treat clients like people, not checkboxes, and we show up for each other the same way. Collaboration, mentorship, and genuine connection fuel our work; curiosity and integrity keep us pushing past assumptions and toward meaningful, lasting impact.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Holon Health is growing fast. We’re tackling complex public health challenges—substance use, chronic conditions, and behavioral health—and we’re doing it differently. More innovative. More connected. And with better outcomes.
With ambitious growth goals, we are taking our marketing team to the next level. We’re seeking a driven Digital Marketing Specialist to own execution across our core digital channels: social media, content marketing/SEO, email, and associated day-to-day operations. While you don’t have to be an expert in all functions, we’re looking for someone who is an expert in either social media or content creation and is willing to roll up their sleeves to learn other marketing functions.
This isn’t a “set it and forget it” role. You’ll experiment, iterate, and own outcomes. This role reports to the Marketing Director and is part of a small but growing team where your voice and ideas matter.
SCHEDULE & LOCATION
This is a fully remote role, but the individual must be physically located in the United States. Hours will typically be 40 per week with some flexibility around when those hours occur.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage and grow our social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others), including content creation, scheduling, engagement, and capitalizing on high-visibility moments relevant to our community (Recovery Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, Alcohol Awareness Week, etc.).
- Produce content including blogs, email copy, social posts, one-pagers, and more that are aligned with brand voice and messaging.
- Support email marketing execution, including campaign deployment, list management, drip sequences, and performance reporting in HubSpot.
- Maintain all marketing collateral, decks, one-pagers, flyers, event materials, and digital assets, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all materials.
- Coordinate and execute marketing communications for new state launches, product and program updates, and organizational announcements across client, partner, staff, and public audiences.
- Track and report on key digital performance metrics (social engagement, open rates, CTRs, traffic) and surface insights to inform strategy.
- Support broader marketing initiatives including award submissions, press plans, video project coordination, and campaign planning.
- Stay on top of trends and tools in digital marketing.
What You Bring to the Table
- 2–4 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment.
- Hands-on experience managing social media channels for an organization, including content creation and community engagement.
- Proficiency with website content management (WordPress or similar CMS) or willingness to learn
- Familiarity with HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation platform (email deployment, workflows, reporting).
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and format across channels including social, email, web, print collateral.
- Experience coordinating or producing basic marketing assets (graphics, short-form video, templated collateral); comfort with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Organized and self-directed: able to manage a wide-ranging task list, prioritize independently, and follow through without heavy oversight.
- Familiarity with behavioral health, substance use, and/or the criminal justice system preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, English, or something related.
- 1-3 years of experience in the healthcare field with priority given to those with experience in behavioral health and/or substance use disorder.
WHY JOIN HOLON:
- A high-impact, high-autonomy role on a team that cares deeply about their work.
- Room to grow and shape your own path.
- A culture rooted in curiosity, collaboration, integrity, and heart.
- We know everyone says this, but the growth team you’d be joining is actually fun! We’re passionate, innovative, and driven individuals dedicated to improving the lives of those we serve.
