Key Responsibilities
- Supervising staff, scheduling shifts, training technicians, and evaluating performance.
- Assigning work orders, prioritizing repairs, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Quality Assurance: Inspecting finished work to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety regulations.
- Technical Support: Troubleshooting complex mechanical or technical problems and mentoring technicians.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Maintaining equipment, tools, and inventory of parts.
- Customer Service: Acting as a point of contact to address customer complaints and technical concerns.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience as a technician or mechanic, often with specialized expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of repairing construction equipment.
- Experience with truck mounted drill rigs and wire rope is a plus.
- DOT medical certification is required.
- Forklift and skid steer/loader maintenance and repair knowledge a plus.
- Ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team of shop mechanics.
- Advanced knowledge of gears and bearings.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Advanced knowledge of welding methods and ability to fabricate on occasion.
- Advanced knowledge of DOT FMCSA Regulations.
- Pass periodic DOT Physical exam and obtain DOT medical certificate.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for managing staff and updating management.
- Vocational training or certifications (e.g., ASE certifications in automotive) are highly preferred.
- Physical Demands: The role often requires standing for long periods, walking, crouching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in environments with high noise levels.
