Job Title: Elementary Title I Assistant
Reports to: Site Administrator(s) and/or District Administration
Compensation: Current Support Salary Schedule
Summary:
An Elementary Title I Assistant will work with the Title I teacher(s), Intervention Team, and classroom teachers to support student learning.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree OR
- 45 hours of college OR
- Pass ParaPro Test OR
- General Equivalency Test
- Pass the school’s criminal and employment background check
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong people skills and affinity for children
- Maintain a strong personal attendance record
Duties and Responsibilities to provide the following school-wide support:
- Works as an effective member of the school-wide intervention team
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce the learning of reading skills initially introduced by the teachers
- Assists with large and small group activities
- Assists teachers in the preparation of materials
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
- Assists with special events as requested
- Supervision of students in non-instructional activities (playground, bus duty, cafeteria, assemblies, emergency drills, etc.)
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor
