Job Description:

Holmes Geospatial, seek Utility Line Locators. You will be stationed at a specific location and responsible for locating utility lines. This is a full-time position, with an average of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Three or more years of field experience as a Utility Locator Technician.
  • Proficient in locating sewer, water, gas, power, and communication lines.
  • Ability to interpret utility maps to identify the size and type of underground utilities.
  • Familiarity with operating electronic detection equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for accurate utility location and marking.
  • Experience with concrete scanning and pipe inspection/CCTV
  • Capability to utilize a shovel to uncover buried utilities when required.
  • Thorough documentation and photography skills for each locate.
  • Skilled in producing sketches for each utility line located.
  • Accurate marking of both Public and Private underground utilities.
  • GPR locating experience is a must.
  • Previous private locate experience is a strong plus.
  • Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) technician experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook 365.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional communication with clients.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and determined work ethic.
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Positive rapport with all stakeholders, including customers, homeowners, and contractors.
  • Diligent equipment maintenance.
  • Safe operation of company vehicles.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to work overtime as needed
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting utility maps.
  • Previous experience in SUE technician roles is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  • Dedicated to maintaining a positive working environment.
  • Ensures proper care of equipment.
  • Committed to safety and quality in all tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
