We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct electrical work including wiring, circuit repairs, and electrical equipment maintenance to meet safety standards.
- Maintain facilities equipment including elevators, lighting fixtures, plumbing systems, and HVAC units with precision and care.
- Lead small teams or supervise contractors during complex repairs or renovations while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Carry out maintenance painting, carpentry repairs, plumbing system repairs, and interior building upkeep to enhance the hotel’s appearance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to execute maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in logs and reports for ongoing facility management.
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests from staff or guests to minimize downtime or inconvenience.
- Support the implementation of maintenance procedures aligned with operational standards for facilities maintenance and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations).
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong background in electrical work, HVAC system repair, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to read schematics and technical diagrams; experience with PLCs is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, electrical equipment repair tools, welding gear, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Knowledge of building interior maintenance practices including painting, drywall repair, flooring upkeep, and general handyman skills.
- Ability to supervise or lead maintenance teams effectively while demonstrating leadership qualities.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and coordination with team members or contractors.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction through timely problem resolution.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy objects, working at heights or confined spaces as required by maintenance duties.
