**Groomer**

Job Summary

The Groomer reports to the Store and Assistant Managers and are tasked with performing various duties to serve customers and to keep stores running safely and efficiently to achieve a profitable store location and holding to Hollywood Feeds #1 Policy "Do what is right by the customer."

Groomer Key Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers daily according to the Hollywood Feed customer service standards.
• Demonstrate the ability and knowledge to thoroughly explain the store products to best meet the pet and customer needs.
• Communicate openly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers.
• Effectively operate both independently and as a part of a team.
• Expected to have open and weekend availability including closing 3 nights per week and one Saturday off per month.
• Employees will be required to unload truck pallets and stock shelves.
• Expected to learn the Hollywood Feed point-of-sale system to:
• Check out Customer Purchases
• Create Customer Accounts
• Open and Close Registers
• Perform other inventory management duties including inventories and cycle counts.

• Attend Hollywood Feed educational classes on a monthly or bi-monthly basis for further education.
• Expected to keep up with basic weekly store maintenance duties involving cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, creating displays, putting out new pricing, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills & Abilities

• The love and dedication to animals is an essential requirement for Hollywood Feed's culture.
• Need to be able to handle clippers, shears, and scissors.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the store products.
• Ability to anticipate customer's needs.
• Ability to recommend store products to customers.
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a minimum of 2 years driving experience. (This time frame can include learner's permit).
  
  

Education

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of company's management educational training programs.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to lift dogs of varying weights to bathe and groom them.
• Physically able to continuously bend or kneel to place dogs in kennels or brush larger dogs while they are standing on the floor.
• Physically able to lift 40lbs repeatedly up to head height to stock shelves multiples times a day and unload delivery pallets.
• Physically able to climb ladders multiple times a day to put up and access products for customers.
• Physically able to continuously bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist multiples times a day.
• Physically able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours.

Pay: $31,200.00 - $50,000.00 per year
