Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of baked goods, coffee drinks, and food items with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate sales transactions and cash handling
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service by answering questions, taking orders, and assisting with food and beverage selections
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, food prep stations, and display cases in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth operations
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, basic math calculations, and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks, ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed
Requirements
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in Spanish (preferred) or English
- Knowledge of food safety practices, proper food handling, and basic math skills for retail math and cash transactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light loads, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food preparation, serving, or retail food industry roles is advantageous
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
