We need your help with our Young Artists Young Actors (YAYA) Summer Camp to partner with parents/guardians, volunteers, and community partners to hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program, so they expand their creativity, develop artistic skills, build friendships, and have a positive experience exploring cultural arts.

The Young Artists Young Actors Summer Camp Assistant Instructor works closely with the Head Instructor, Teen Arts Support Staff, and the Center Arts Program Manager to help implement daily camp programming and ensure a safe, engaging environment for campers.
This role reports to the Arts Program Manager and supports the Lead Instructor in the day-to-day operation of the camp.
Specific Responsibilities
- Complete pre-camp training and screening process
- Assist the Lead Instructor in preparing materials and activities for daily camp programming
- Support the facilitation of daily activities, games, performances, and creative projects
- Help maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment for campers
- Assist with camper supervision to ensure safety and engagement throughout the camp day
- Support camper check-in and check-out procedures
- Help manage classroom setup, cleanup, and organization of supplies
- Provide encouragement and guidance to campers participating in performing and visual arts activities
- Collaborate with camp staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations
Education Level, Knowledge and Work Experience
- High School Diploma required; some college coursework in education, arts, or youth programs preferred
- Interest or experience in performing or visual arts programming
- Experience working with children, ideally ages 7–10, strongly preferred

- Professional, ethical, and respectful approach when working with children and families
Must pass a Level 2 background check and have reliable transportation.
Position Details
This is a contractor position running two sessions:
- June 8 – June 26, 2026
- July 13 – July 31, 2026
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM onsite
Compensation is $750 per week for a total of $2,250 per camp session. Assistant Instructors must be available for the full three-week session.

Minimal physical requirements include walking, standing, occasional lifting, sitting at a workstation, and moving about to support camp activities.
