Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ physical, psychological, and functional status to complete MDS evaluations in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Review medical records, clinical documentation, and healthcare data to ensure accuracy and completeness for coding and reimbursement purposes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, therapy, social work, and physicians to gather pertinent information for comprehensive case management.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record), Pointclick care
- Perform utilization review and management activities to optimize patient care pathways and discharge planning processes.
- Stay current with ICD-10/ICD coding standards, CPT coding procedures, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations to ensure precise documentation and billing practices.
- Participate in clinical documentation improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of medical records and support compliance with NCQA standards.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or (LPN) license with current state licensure.
- Proven experience with MDS assessments in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, DRG assignment, and Medicare regulations.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR, Pointclick care proficiency in medical documentation review is essential.
- Excellent understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to perform detailed documentation review while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Pay: $36.65 - $44.14 per hour
