Dental Front Office Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure seamless dental procedures.
• Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
• Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Provide vital signs monitoring and perform basic medical documentation to support overall patient health assessments.
• Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
• Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control standards to safeguard patients and staff.
• Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
• Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable, along with experience supporting specialized areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
• Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology to ensure clear understanding among team members and patients.
• Experience with medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners or digital X-ray systems is preferred but not required.
