Shrink Tunnel Operator - 1st Shift

Job Title: Shrink Tunnel Operator

Position Summary

The Shrink Tunnel Feeder is responsible for verifying finished product quality and counts prior to packaging, feeding product into the shrink tunnel for proper wrapping, maintaining shrink wrap materials, and ensuring all pallets are accurately labeled and prepared for shipment. This position serves as a critical quality checkpoint before product leaves Holly’s Custom Print.

Core Responsibilities

Quality & Count Verification

• Confirm print quality meets job specifications prior to packaging.
• Verify accurate pack counts before feeding product into the shrink tunnel.
• Identify and separate defective or non-conforming product as needed.
• Separate good and bad pallets when required.
• Communicate quality or count discrepancies to leadership immediately.

Shrink Tunnel Operation

• Feed finished product into the shrink tunnel in a safe and efficient manner.
• Monitor wrapping process to ensure proper seal, tension, and presentation.
• Change shrink wrap rolls as needed, ensuring proper loading, alignment, and tension.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of wrap feed issues and notify maintenance when necessary.
• Maintain shrink tunnel area in a clean and organized condition.

Material Handling

• Operate an electric pallet jack to move skids to and from the shrink tunnel area.
• Stage finished pallets appropriately for shipment.
• Apply required product stickers and skid tags accurately according to job ticket and customer requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move packages weighing between 16–50 lbs on a repetitive basis.
• Stand and remain on feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform repetitive motions including lifting, stacking, feeding product, and wrap changes.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack (certification preferred or willingness to become certified).
• Mechanical aptitude to safely change shrink wrap rolls and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to read and follow job tickets and labeling instructions accurately.
• Reliable attendance and ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
