Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Home Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic care team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and review of medical histories to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately.
- Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate diagnostic evaluations like laboratory testing, imaging (e.g., sonography), and diagnostic coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Provide emergency response and acute pain management for residents experiencing urgent health issues or trauma situations in trauma or ICU settings.
- Maintain meticulous medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Educate residents and their families on health coaching, medication administration, and chronic disease management and behavioral health.
Skills
- Extensive experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems), particularly Cerner or Athenahealth platforms.
- Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, aseptic technique, and sterile processing.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to acute care, long-term care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges across various settings such as group homes or assisted living facilities.
- Critical care experience in hospital environments like Level I Trauma Centers or ICUs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with infectious disease control protocols and infection prevention strategies.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to triage effectively in urgent care or emergency room scenarios.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health incidents.
- Experience managing complex cases involving pain management, dialysis procedures, gastrostomy tube care, or neonatal ventilator support is a plus.
