Role: Technical Business Analyst
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hybrid) in Oak Park Heights, MN; 3 days per week (Wednesday required; other two days flexible).
Rate: Up to $60/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, and SQL to join our Agile team. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who isn’t afraid to ask questions and can translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Power BI semantic models and report visuals.
- Support and enhance web applications.
- Participate as an active member of an Agile/Scrum team.
- Elicit requirements from users and perform system/data gap analysis.
- Turn user/system requirements into technical designs for developers.
- Query data using SQL to identify anomalies and scenarios in datasets.
- Create test scripts and perform unit and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in data modeling best practices (star schema, normalization, etc.).
- Experience building and maintaining semantic models using Power BI datasets.
- Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
- Understanding of ETL processes and ability to read/debug/troubleshoot.
- Ability to elicit requirements and perform system/data gap analysis.
- Skilled in SQL querying for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience creating test scripts and conducting unit/E2E testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Must-Haves:
- Power BI model creation.
- SQL querying.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant experience.
