Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Room Technician / Auto Body Painter to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, applying high-quality paint finishes, and ensuring each vehicle meets our rigorous standards for appearance and durability. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
- Operate spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and other power tools to apply primer, paint, and clear coats with precision and consistency.
- Perform surface repairs including dent removal, filling imperfections, and auto body refinishing to restore vehicle integrity.
- Conduct auto restoration tasks such as welding, grinding, and mechanical adjustments as needed for comprehensive vehicle repair.
- Maintain a clean and organized paint booth environment while adhering to all safety protocols including proper use of respiratory protection.
- Assist with auto glass replacement and detailing tasks to ensure a flawless final appearance.
- Collaborate with team members on vehicle inspection, estimating repairs, and providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive shop experience with auto body repair and auto painting techniques.
- Strong knowledge of automotive surface preparation, masking techniques, sanding methods, and coating application.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, power tools, buffing equipment, and spray guns including airless systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in welding, auto restoration, vehicle maintenance, and auto glass installation would be a plus.
- Familiarity with automotive buffing, detailing, and finishing processes to achieve high-quality results.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with auto estimating knowledge for accurate repair assessments.
