What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Teacher position at HOLLISTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS?
Holliston High School is looking for a dynamic educator to help cultivate a strong passion for Wellness in our students. The school and district have strong commitments to authentic learning experiences and continue to look for ways to engage students in unique and exciting courses that will foster independence, resilience, and perseverance. Holliston High School is always looking to increase student voice and agency so that students take ownership over their learning and see the classroom environment strongly connected to the community through meaningful and relevant work. It is essential that teachers build rapport with students, parents, and families so they understand that teachers care about them and want to support their success. We are looking for a teacher who continually improves teaching skills by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
This Long-Term substitute position is for the remainder of the school year.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts DESE Certification Required
- Experience teaching courses on Stress Management and Health, Fitness, and Nutrition
- Preferred but not required: background in Project Adventure activities, Ropes Courses, and Belay Skills (Training will be provided)
Courses offered by the wellness department include:
Wellness 9, Wellness 10, Life & Stress Management, Adventure Education & Leadership, Rock Climbing & Leadership, CPR & First Aid, Human Development & Child Caring, Relationships & Sexuality, and Functional Fitness.

Functional Fitness
Instructional hours: 8:15 am-3:03 pm

The check will require you to pay a fee of $55 if you hold an Educator's License, or $35 if you are an unlicensed employee.
