JOB TITLE: TEACHER ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT- SPECIAL PROJECTS
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Teacher On Special Assignment- Special Projects will collaboratively provide leadership in developing, implementing and facilitating various projects and programs related to school sites in the district. S/he will coordinate and provide technical support services for specific assigned activities and projects.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide effective leadership and communication in area(s) of assignment. Actively work with schools in the process of planning, coordinating, and evaluating projects that support teaching and learning in a safe and secure environment. Coordinate, plan and conduct programs and projects that build capacity for instructional effectiveness. Create effective communication between vertical team networks to gather, access, and disseminate pertinent information, including researchbased developments in all areas. Provide technical assistance regarding development and implementation of effective programs. Advise and assist schools in their utilization of instructional and building priorities. Serve as a liaison between schools and the San Benito County Office of Education. Performs other duties as assigned.EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Training and Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Knowledge: Knowledge of principles and practices of program planning, coordination, and evaluation; collaborative/consensus management methods and shared decision making; pertinent laws and regulations; and knowledge of research, emerging developments and mandates in the field, including state frameworks and guidelines, and state and national program initiatives in assigned area. Abilities: Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation; ability to use appropriate technology for information processing; ability to organize and prioritize work, adjust to changing circumstances, act decisively and accept responsibility for decisions; possess skills in meeting and time management, work well with people and possess good communication skills both orally and in writing. Physical Effort/Working Environment: Light physical effort; occasional standing or walking; periodic handling of lightweight parcels or supplies. Indoor work environment. License and Certifications: A valid Class 3 California Driver’s License and evidence of appropriate automobile insurance based on DMV regulations may be required, in addition to a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
