Duties
- Conduct patrols of assigned areas to deter crime and respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies.
- Investigate criminal activities by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and documenting findings through detailed report writing.
- Enforce traffic laws by conducting traffic stops, issuing citations, and managing accident scenes with professionalism.
- Execute arrest procedures in accordance with legal protocols while ensuring safety for all parties involved.
- Perform surveillance operations to monitor suspicious activities and support criminal investigations.
- Apply first aid and CPR when necessary to provide immediate assistance during emergencies.
- Handle evidence law, search and seizure procedures, and local ordinances accurately to support lawful investigations.
- Manage conflict situations using conflict management techniques and appropriate use of force training.
- Participate in ongoing training on procedural law, firearms handling in law enforcement, criminal procedure, and other relevant topics to stay current with best practices.
- Assist with animal handling or animal care when required during community interactions or investigations related to animal-related incidents.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of criminal law, procedural law, evidence law, and local ordinances essential for effective law enforcement.
- Proficiency in report writing with attention to detail for accurate documentation of incidents and investigations.
