Summary:

The AccountingIntern will provide meaningful contributions to the accounting organization with an emphasis on both daily tasks and project based work.The intern will get visibility with senior management and have the opportunity to work with other teams in the company in support of their career aspirations. Successful candidates will have advanced Excel and Access skills, excellent communication skills and a desire to learn.

Learn about:

• Learn about preparation of consolidated financial statements from a private company perspective
• Learn how various departments in the company within finance interact with each other to ensure accuracy of the financial statements
• Learn how to report on general ledger, account balances, and financial statements in SAP and BPC
• Learn about the month end close process
• Learn about Hollister global accounting policies
• Learn about intercompany transactions and related consolidation eliminations

For this opportunity, the expectation is to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week in the Libertyville, IL office.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain specialized reports
• Identify and recommend process improvements
• Document processes and procedures
• Perform month-end close processes and daily bank reconciliations
• Assist in special projects focusing on automation and compliance
• Assist with the preparation of financial statement preparation
• Assist with customer inquiries for past due invoices
• Create reports leveraging SAP, BPC or Banking applications
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university
• Have successfully completed a minimum of at least sophomore year of college
• Have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Analytical skills with familiarity with accounting, financial analysis and reporting
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Self-starter/fast learner
• Ability to commute to the Libertyville office during the internship (paid housing is not provided)

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. The actual salary varies based on applicant's education & skills.
