Description
The Repair Specialist Rock Plant is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery used in rock crushing and screening operations. This includes preventive maintenance, replacement of wear parts, fabrication, and ensuring that the plant is left in optimal operating conditions.
Essential Functions of the Position:
•Works with a team of 2-10 people to complete scheduled maintenance and repairs at the direction of the repair foreman.
•Assists plant operators in scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
•Contributes to a positive team culture, ensuring a motivating and respectful environment that promotes high morale and productivity.
•Adheres to all safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies, ensuring the health and safety of all team members while on the job.
•Communicates with the repair foreman to understand the needs of the operators and deficiencies in the plants.
Skills and Knowledge:
•Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and conveying systems.
•Hand tool proficiency.
•Welding and torching skills.
•Ability to lift and carry heavy objects through rough terrain.
•Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
•Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a small team.
•The ability to operate forklifts, manlifts, and tractors.
Requirements:
•Must have a valid Class C driver’s license.
•Driver record cannot contain any reckless driving offences, DUIs, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.
•Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
•Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
•Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions/feedback, coaching/counseling, and/or action/discipline.
