The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing functional support for the HR activities at Holliday Rock. Works under the direction of a Regional HR Business Partner or Director. Daily responsibilities include assisting with Performance Management, Payroll, UKG HRIS, Leave Administration, Sourcing/Recruiting, and day-to-day HR Operations.
Essential Functions of the Position:
HR Partnership:
- Partner with managers and supervisors to support operational needs and align HR practices with business objectives.
- Support workforce planning, employee development, and retention initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted resource to leaders regarding performance management, employee relations, and HR compliance.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Manage employee relations matters and conduct workplace investigations as needed.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and compliance with employment laws.
- Partner with safety and operations teams to support a safe and productive work environment.
Talent & Performance Management:
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts for hourly and salaried employees.
- Assist with performance reviews, coaching, corrective actions, and employee development.
- Identify training opportunities and support organizational development initiatives.
Field Support & Travel:
- Regularly visit job sites and plant locations to provide face-to-face support.
- Build relationships with field employees and managers to promote employee engagement and communication.
- Serve as the HR liaison for remote and field operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or related role.
- Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, leave administration, performance management, and HR operations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; UKG experience preferred.
- Ability to travel regularly to support field locations (up to 60%).
- Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, transportation, or other industrial operations preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel frequently to various company locations, including remote concrete plants and field offices (up to 60% of travel).
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during site visits and meetings.
- Ability to navigate active job locations, including walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs or ladders, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., laptop, training materials, safety gear).
- Must be comfortable working in outdoor or industrial environments, occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions when visiting sites.
