Job Title: Production Foreman Nights
Location(s): San Marcos - At this time, we are only considering local candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Scheduled Days & Hours: Monday-Friday 9pm-5:30am/finish, occasional weekends
Wages: $25-30 per hour
Estimated Hours Per Week: 40 hrs
Ideal Candidate Criteria: The Production Foreman oversees daily production operations by reviewing inventory, customer demand, and raw material levels to plan and coordinate efficient production schedules. This role ensures accurate completion of production and sanitation logs, supports staff with training and coverage, and maintains clean, safe work areas. The Production Foreman coordinates with Product Control, Engineering, and Quality Control to address equipment, maintenance, and quality issues, replenishes production supplies, and prepares products for storage or further processing. Consistent attendance, hands-on leadership, and the ability to fill in for any production position are essential.
Job Duties:
Receive and evaluate the daily inventory from Product Control (warehouse), and recap from customer service/ sales to configure the daily production needs.
Administrative duties to include evaluating paperwork from day shift, checking paperwork at the end of the night, making sure all CIP documentation from technicians is completed correctly, logs are filled out (making corrections where necessary). Must receive and verify that all machines have logs that are being properly completed by operators (recording the type of product and amount being produced) and enter the data into the spreadsheet.
Take inventory of raw milk silos to adjust production needs accordingly.
Utilize master production log to compare current needs and predict future orders/ needs.
Plan order of processing, order condensed milk, raw milk or milk from California Dairies (CDI)
Replenish supplies such as parts, chemicals, charts and pens etc. for production staff as needed to ensure smooth operations. May use forklift to retrieve supplies upon certificate cartons, or pallets. May be required to replace barrels of chemicals at the case wash.
Inspect CIP equipment, provide any resources employees may need.
Coordinate preparations to facilitate next days production. May include assisting CIP in machine sanitation, bringing down cartons, and directing staff.
Make routine rounds through the plant, case dock, and chemical cage, addressing issues as noticed.
Assist, train and provide coverage as needed
Must be able to fill in for any production position.
Coordinate with engineering department regarding repairs, preventative maintenance, or other machine/ equipment issues.
Prepares products for storage or for further processing.
Checks code dates on products and reports any discrepancies to supervisor, manager, and or QC manager.
Need to make sure the production area inside and outside are clean at all times.
Prompt and regular attendance
Other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed: Basic speaking, reading and writing in English for data entry and paperwork. Knowledge of SQF & GMP's. HTST Pasteurizer License Preferred.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop. The employee must regularly push, pull; lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
