JOB SUMMARY
Salary range: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour.
Work location: Hybrid; Vancouver, WA.
Holland is seeking a driven and proactive professional to join our dedicated and deadline focused accounting team at our corporate office in vibrant downtown Vancouver, Washington. The Project Accountant I is responsible for providing foundational accounting and administrative support to the construction and development accounting team. The Project Accountant I assists with routine financial processes, document handling, and preliminary project accounting tasks in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepare, gather, and organize documentation needed for project and pursuit financial activities.
- Support the processing of invoices, billings, and related project cost documentation.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, trackers, and files to support accounting workflows.
- Assist with the preparation of routine financial summaries, reconciliations, and other basic project accounting tasks.
- Assist with the identification of discrepancies or missing information and escalate issues to Project Accountant II or Senior Project Accountant as needed.
- Communicate with project teams, vendors, and internal partners to collect information or clarify documentation.
- Provide general accounting support for month-end, year-end, and audit-related activities as directed.
- Collaborate with Project Accountant II and Senior Project Accountants on various tasks and special projects to support departmental needs.
- Assist with project financial reporting.
- Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College coursework or a degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in accounting required, with experience in real estate construction and/or development project accounting preferred. College coursework or a degree in Accounting or a related field may be considered in lieu of specified work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts and willingness to learn project accounting functions.
- Basic financial reporting and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, with Yardi, Textura, or similar accounting systems preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize work, proactively meet deadlines, and adapt to changing workloads.
Attendance: This full-time position requires regular and punctual attendance compliant with the schedule set to meet company needs. Additional hours or overtime may be required.
This position also requires:
- Ability to lift or move up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
