The Opportunity
We are seeking a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and clients through all stages of the bankruptcy process. This role involves direct communication with clients, attorneys, the Court, and Trustees, as well as preparing, filing, and managing case documents. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and manage incoming legal and client documents.
- Draft, review, and file bankruptcy-related pleadings and other legal documents.
- Perform e-filing through Pacer and state e-filing portals.
- Maintain and organize case files using Clio and other case management systems.
- Monitor court dockets and hearing calendars daily.
- Assist attorneys with case management and preparation for hearings, mediations, and meetings.
- Coordinate and maintain attorney schedules and deadlines, providing timely reminders.
- Conduct public records searches and related research.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, Judges, and Trustees.
- Provide clients with regular case updates.
- Answer incoming calls and handle client inquiries with professionalism.
- Manage administrative office duties such as emails, copies, payments, and file organization.
Qualifications
- 1 year of bankruptcy experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Familiarity with Clio case management software preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, and similar software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
