We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team and keep our fleet and equipment at a high standard of readiness and reliability! The technician will provide support for daily operations of passenger buses, transit vans, and minivans; oversee maintenance coordination; and perform light vehicle maintenance.

We are a community-based program for adults 55 years or older that promotes healthy independent living and helps prevent nursing home placement. Our program is all-inclusive concierge care led by skilled primary care providers and an interdisciplinary team with 11 specialties represented. Fleet Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team and keep our fleet and equipment at a high standard of readiness and reliability! The technician will provide support for daily operations of passenger buses, transit vans, and minivans; oversee maintenance coordination; and perform light vehicle maintenance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs routine vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs before they become major repairs.
- Completes basic vehicle maintenance such as replacing windshield wipers, headlights, taillights, air filters, cabin filters, batteries, and fuses.
- Performs fluid checks and top offs
- Checks and adjusts tire pressure and monitors tire wear
- Maintains accurate electronic records and tracking logs for fleet-related activities, including vehicle cleaning, fire extinguisher inspections, preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and other required inspections or services
- Communicates daily with the Transportation Manager regarding any issues
- Notifies the Transportation Coordinators of any vehicles that are out of service
- Notifies the Transportation Manager of any upcoming routine maintenance and coordinates with dispatchers to schedule the maintenance.
- Responds to vehicle accident scenes as directed by the Transportation Manager. Assists the driver with completing the accident report and arranging transportation for participants on the bus.
- Must have acquired a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid unrestricted standard Michigan Chauffer’s license, required. Must maintain an acceptable driving record allowing for insurability under Care Resources’ general liability policy.
- Experience in performing preventative maintenance and basic automotive repairs, required.
- Have ASE G1 (Auto Maintenance and Light Repair) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Ability to identify and diagnose common vehicle maintenance issues.
- Ability to perform routine inspections and basic repairs using standard automotive tools.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter, update, and maintain electronic records, schedules, and tracking logs related to vehicle maintenance, cleaning, inspections, safety equipment, and other fleet requirements.
- Ability to adhere to Transportation Policies.
- Ability to work effectively and in a collegial manner with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language clearly.
