What are the responsibilities and job description for the City of Holland Market Ambassador position at Holland, City of (MI)?
Under the direction of the Market Director and the Market Manager, the Market Ambassador is responsible for providing visitor services at the Farmers Market.
Temporary Seasonal On-Call Position (May through October)- Staffs the Market Ambassador tent on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm to sell Market merchandise to customers, including cash and credit card transactions, and to answer visitor questions about the Market, Downtown Holland, and the greater Holland area.
- Helps lead scheduled field trips for area school groups at the Market, including leading Market tours for students of all ages, answering student questions about the Market, distributing scavenger hunts and prizes, etc.
- Cross trains with the Assistant Market Manager to help implement the Market’s various food assistance programs, including assisting program participants and maintaining detailed records if case of staff absence.
- Works with the programming and marketing staff to assist with programs/events as needed to ensure their success.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience handling money or working with point-of-sale systems.
- Physical ability to occasionally lift/push/pull/transport equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outside working conditions with exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions.
