Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cultivation Assistant to join our horticultural team. In this role, you will support the cultivation and maintenance of plants within a medical indoor grow. Your responsibilities will include assisting with plant care, irrigation, and general farm operations to ensure healthy growth and optimal yields. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for gardening and sustainable cultivation practices, contributing to our mission of producing high-quality plants and crops.
Responsibilities
- Assist with irrigation systems setup, monitoring, and maintenance to ensure proper watering schedules
- Assist with all aspects of harvesting including processing and trimming
- Support growing activities by planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting crops or plant maintenance
- Identify plant species and diagnose common issues related to pests or diseases
- Operate hand tools and basic mechanical equipment safely and effectively
- Help with fertilization, and pest control measures
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving soil bags, plants, or equipment as needed
- Follow safety protocols during work and handling of gardening tools
- Collaborate with team members to implement best practices in horticulture and farming
Requirements
- Prior experience in cannabis horticulture (preferred, will train)
- Mechanical knowledge related to gardening tools and small equipment operation
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged physical activity
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Enthusiasm for completing work tasks
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented and positive attitude
- Available to work 1 weekend day per week
