What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Holistic Veterinary Services?
We are currently seeking an upbeat person who can fulfill the following duties on a PT (28-35 hrs per week) basis:
1. Dispense supplements and medications per doctor’s orders
2. Greet clients with a smile and friendly demeanor
3. Politely answer phones and communicate with clients
4. Communicate with clients in other ways such as by email or text (clinic cell phone)
5. Assist with animal restraint
8. Draw blood, place IV catheters and assist with anesthesia and surgical prep
9. Handle, create forms for, and package laboratory samples (gloves provided)
10. Scan, copy, or fax documents to records, clients, or other clinics
Canididate must be open minded and knowledgeable (through us teaching you) about holistic and integrative medicine.
Veterinary experience or technician training is required. Computer experience is a must. Experience with some type of credit card processing software/app is desirable. A great attitude and ability to work well as a team are a necessity.
We are excited to welcome a new member of our team as we expand into our new, larger location.
Starting rate $18 - 20/ hr depending on experience with potential $1.00/hr raise after first 3 months.
Hours needed are Tuesdays 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 pm, Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 pm, and Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with additional required hours 1-2 Thursdays per month.
