Early Childhood Wellness Teacher
The Holistic Health Community is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dynamic Part-Time Early Childhood Wellness Teacher to lead our innovative mindfulness and emotional wellness program for toddlers and young children.
This is a unique opportunity to help children build a strong foundation for lifelong emotional well-being by introducing simple, joyful mindfulness practices through movement, music, creativity, and play. Through mindfulness, movement, creativity, and play, children are gently encouraged to discover their own inner light while developing empathy, compassion, confidence, and meaningful connections with others.

Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Wellness Teacher will facilitate engaging and joyful classes that create a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore emotions, build self-awareness, strengthen social-emotional skills, and develop healthy self-regulation in age-appropriate ways.

Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging mindfulness and emotional wellness classes for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Create a welcoming, joyful, and emotionally safe classroom environment.
- Guide children through movement, yoga, music, breathing exercises, mindfulness activities, and creative play.
- Foster kindness, empathy, cooperation, confidence, and emotional resilience.
- Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs of individual children.
- Build positive relationships with children, teachers, and families.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
- Assist with preparing materials and setting up activities.
- Participate in training and ongoing curriculum development as needed.
- Represent the Holistic Health Community with professionalism, compassion, and enthusiasm.

- Experience with mindfulness, yoga, music, dance, or creative arts for young children.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and play-based teaching practices.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-aged children in an early childhood, preschool, childcare, or enrichment setting.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and manage groups of young children in a warm, positive, and developmentally appropriate manner.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate social-emotional learning practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification or training in one or more of the following:
- Children's Yoga (e.g., ChildLight Education Company, Yoga Ed., Radiant Child Yoga, Kidding Around Yoga, or equivalent)
- Mindfulness instruction for children
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Conscious Discipline®, Positive Discipline, or similar evidence-based approaches
- Music, dance, expressive arts, or creative movement for young children
- Experience teaching mindfulness, yoga, movement, music, or creative arts in an early childhood setting.
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus.

Schedule
This is a part-time, 6 hour per month position beginning in September in Poughkeepsie, NY.
This position begins at approximately six hours per month with opportunities for additional teaching hours as the program grows throughout the Hudson Valley.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
