CAKE TEAM DECORATOR – DESIGNER and PREP 

Pay range starting at $16, depending on experience. Part or Full time. Hiring for Multiple Open Positions.

Holiday Market is seeking an experienced cake decorator with at least 1-5 years of previous experience in a bakery. This is a fast-paced position in a high production bakery. Your responsibilities will include setting and icing cakes, prepping supplies, making icings and fillings, and finishing cakes. We are looking for part-time and full-time employees to fill these positions. Night, weekend, and holiday availability are required. 

A portfolio of decorated cakes is required to apply for a designer position. 

Responsibilities (included but not limited to) 

• PREPPING NUTS AND CHOCOLATE FINISHES 
• CUTTING FOAM PLAQUES 
• BASIC CAKE SETTING 
• MAKING FOIL BOARDS 
• CUTTING CAKE SLICES 
• MAKE BUTTERCREAMS, GLAZES, GANACHES, MOUSSES 
• LABELING AND STOCKING SLICES/CUPCAKES 
• MAKING POP-ON FONDANT FLOWERS 
• PUTTING AWAY SUPPLIES 
• GLAZING TRIPLES AND CLASSICS 
• ICE CAKES (IF APPLICABLE) 
• DECORATE CAKES FOR SALE IN OUR SHOWCASE (depending on experience) 

Qualifications and Skills 

·     Preferred schooling (or be currently enrolled) in a culinary arts program OR have 1 more years of experience in a cake-producing bakery 

• Ability to read and follow recipes 
• Good organizational skills and multitasking 
• Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations. SERV safe certified would be best. 
• Ability to meet strict deadlines 
• Must be able to work at least 1 weekend day, 1 afternoon, and some holidays 
• Must be able to lift up to 50# 
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more.  
• Excellent customer service skills.  
• Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. 
• Keep a clean and organized workstation 
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Must have good time management skills and the ability to multi-task with a calm demeanor.  

Experienced Baker

Holiday Market is seeking an experienced baker with at least one year of previous experience in a bakery. You will be responsible for producing baked goods for sale, pies and completing orders for that day. It is the baker’s responsibility to ensure the quality of the goods being used is up to Holiday Market’s standards and to make notes of when supplies are running low so that an order can be made. The position can be full time or part time. The position is hourly and it is open availability. You must be able to work one weekend day, one later shift and some holidays.

Baker Responsibilities

• Mixing, preparing and baking pastries
• Organizes production to ensure efficient work flow.
• Making sure baking orders are done correctly and efficiently
• Making sure all baked goods needed for the front of the house are on hand at all times.
• Recommend new recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten free and current trends)
• Producing our vegan dessert line.
• Tracking food supply inventory and informing management when an order needs to be placed. 
•  Familiarity with oven/refrigeration temperatures and baking equipment

Baker Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read and follow recipes
• Baking
• Good organizational skills and multitasking
• Must be able to adhere to health and safety regulations. Servsafe certification would be best.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Must be able to work 1 weekend day and some holidays.

• Culinary school is not required but recommended.
