Who you are
We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual to join our team as a Bartender / Cook at Holiday Inn & Suites Stone Oak. This unique role combines the duties of mixing beverages and preparing a wide range of food offerings, ensuring an excellent experience for guests. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality drinks and food while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction.
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel standards. You'll engage with guests, take drink orders, and ensure the bar area is clean, well-stocked, and organized. Additionally, you will handle credit card transactions and adhere to health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service. Staying updated on drink trends, recipes, and hotel promotions will also be a key part of the role.
In the Cook capacity, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, in accordance with hotel recipes and quality standards. You will maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring it complies with all health and safety standards. You will also assist with inventory management and communicating with leadership for the ordering of supplies.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in both bartending and cooking, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality setting. You should have a solid knowledge of drink recipes and food preparation techniques. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members are essential. The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and quality is crucial. Familiarity with health and safety regulations for both food handling and alcohol service is required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays will be necessary, and you must be able to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
While a formal degree is not required, experience in the field is important. Previous experience in a hotel or large restaurant setting is preferred, along with bartender certifications such as TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. You should be comfortable working in a hot and occasionally noisy kitchen / bar environment.
