The Laundry Attendant is responsible for operating commercial laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry. This role helps ensure all departments have clean, high-quality linens and garments available to support exceptional guest service. Reporting to the housekeeping supervisor/manager, you will utilize your core skills in laundry operations to ensure all linens and terry are properly cleaned, ironed, and folded. We expect you to demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to excellence, contributing to a positive experience for our guests and supporting the overall efficiency of our team.

Key Responsibilities
- Sort, inspect, and separate soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironers, folders, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply appropriate detergents, chemicals, and stain-removal treatments according to hotel procedures.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry for distribution.
- Deliver clean linens and uniforms to housekeeping, food and beverage, and other hotel departments.
- Monitor linen inventory and report shortages or damaged items.
- Inspect linens and uniforms for stains, tears, or excessive wear.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and chemical handling procedures.
- Respond promptly to guest laundry requests while maintaining confidentiality.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.
- Assist with other housekeeping or laundry duties as assigned.
Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Previous hotel or commercial laundry experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and fabric care.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition
- Needs to be able to lift to up 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Work in a warm, humid environment around laundry equipment.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and laundry supplies.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced commercial laundry facility within a full-service hotel.
- Exposure to heat, humidity, noise, and cleaning chemicals.
- Requires adherence to all hotel safety and sanitation standards.
