The Director of Human Resources serves as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and leadership team, providing guidance on all aspects of Human Resources while ensuring compliance, supporting managers, and creating an exceptional employee experience.

If you're passionate about developing people, navigating complex employee relations, and building strong organizational culture, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Employee relations
  • Performance management
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Leave of absence management
  • Workers' compensation administration
  • HR compliance
  • Employee engagement and retention
  • Policy development and implementation
  • Training and leadership support

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Human Resources department while providing outstanding service to employees and managers.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and leadership team on organizational and people-related initiatives.
  • Advise managers on employee relations, coaching, performance management, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while maintaining current HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and develop exceptional talent.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs while supporting fair and consistent employment practices.
  • Manage leave of absence programs, disability accommodations, workers' compensation claims, and OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Develop initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, recognition, communication, and organizational culture.
  • Supervise and develop Human Resources staff while promoting continuous improvement within the department.

What You Bring

We're looking for someone with:

  • At least 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience managing leave administration, workers' compensation, disability accommodations, and employee investigations.
  • Strong recruiting and talent development experience.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High ethical standards with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • SPHR preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, hotels, resorts, or other multi-department, 24/7 operations is strongly preferred.

The Leader We're Looking For

Success in this role means you're someone who:

  • Builds trust through consistency, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Coaches managers rather than simply enforcing policies.
  • Can confidently navigate difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Balances compliance with practical business solutions.
  • Enjoys building systems, improving processes, and developing people.
  • Understands that a positive employee experience drives exceptional guest service.
