Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Department: Operations / Housekeeping

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Manager oversees all daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. You will lead, train, and inspire a team of cleaning staff to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate balances exceptional quality control with budget management to ensure a welcoming environment for all guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities1. Staff Management & Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor housekeeping staff and supervisors.
- Create daily/weekly work schedules to ensure proper coverage across all shifts and facility areas.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and recognize outstanding team performance.
2. Quality Assurance & Inspections
- Perform daily facility inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure company cleanliness standards are met.
- Identify deficiencies, coach employees on necessary corrections, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the handling of lost-and-found items and special guest requests.
3. Budget & Inventory Control
- Manage the department budget, monitor expenses, and minimize waste without compromising quality.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, linens, and room amenities.
- Negotiate with vendors and place orders for necessary supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and safely operated; arrange for repairs when needed.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA and workplace hazard standards.
- Train staff on the proper and safe use of cleaning chemicals and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
5. Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Communicate closely with the Front Desk to ensure accurate and timely updates on room status (e.g., check-outs, stay-overs).
- Report maintenance issues to the engineering or maintenance team for swift repair.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality management is a plus.
- Experience: [3-5] years of proven supervisory or management experience in housekeeping or hospitality.
- Leadership: Strong ability to motivate, manage, and communicate with a diverse team.
- Organization: Excellent time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical: Familiarity with Hotel Management Systems (e.g., Opera, Maestro) and standard inventory tracking software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
