Full-Time Custodian/Shuttle Driver
Holiday Inn Long Island Islip Airport East is seeking a dependable, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Full-Time Shuttle Driver / Custodian. This is a hands-on position that combines exceptional guest service with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming hotel environment.

Position Summary
The Custodian/Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous transportation for hotel guests while also ensuring the hotel's public areas and exterior grounds remain clean, organized, and well-maintained. This role is essential to creating an outstanding guest experience from arrival through departure.
Primary Responsibilities:
Custodial & Property Maintenance
- Clean and maintain all public areas including the lobby, restrooms, hallways, meeting spaces, and employee areas.
- Keep entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas clean and free of debris.
- Empty trash receptacles and replenish restroom supplies.
- Assist with light maintenance projects and room moves as needed.
- Support housekeeping and engineering teams during busy periods.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the hotel both inside and outside.
Shuttle Driver
- Safely transport guests to and from Long Island MacArthur Airport and other approved local destinations.
- Greet guests with a friendly, professional attitude and assist with luggage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel shuttle.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate shuttle logs as required.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be insurable under the hotel's vehicle insurance policy.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Hotel or custodial experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Schedule
- Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
