What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseman/Porter position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites?
Housemen duties include assisting in the housekeeping department to clean common areas, repairing and replacing malfunctioned units and furniture, responding on guest's requests and inquiries, flexibility to multi-task, and coordinating to other personnel for concerns and guests' assistance.
- Manage and train new housemen's to hotel standards and regulations, all housemen duties and customer service skills.
- Reset the room for the next day functions and/or meetings.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality when working with VIP guests.
- General upkeep of a large 4-star hotel are carried out by a small group of housemen.
- Serve large functions on daily basis, and reset the room for next day functions, and/or meetings
- Operate mechanical floor cleaners and use other environmental services equipment ensue that the cleanliness of the facility exceed patient expectation.
- Close coordination and communication with other internal departments.
- Maintain relationship and communication with other staff to ensure cohesion
- Assist with maintenance department in minor repairs/replacing of items.
- Strip rooms replenish housekeeping carts and needs for efficiency.
Pay: From $12.50 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Cleaning: 1 year (Preferred)
- Hotel Housekeepers: 1 year (Preferred)
