Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks and assisting with repairs. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment
- Support preventative maintenance programs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests
- Perform minor repairs, painting, and basic carpentry
- Ensure safety and cleanliness in all maintenance areas
- Work alongside the Maintenance Supervisor and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
Skills
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising maintenance teams preferred.
- Proficient in English for effective communication with team members and residents.
- Solid knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in maintenance tasks.
- Experience in residential painting techniques is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills to address resident concerns professionally.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues effectively and perform repairs as needed.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety standards are met.
- Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in general maintenance or building upkeep preferred (hotel experience a plus)
- Basic knowledge of tools and maintenance practices
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including standing and bending for long periods
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
