Are you a welcoming, solution-oriented professional who excels in customer service? Holiday Inn Express & Suites Roanoke Rapids SE is seeking a reliable and engaging Front Desk Agent to lead our afternoon and evening operations.
In this role, you will be the central hub of our hotel—welcoming travelers, managing check-ins, answering inquiries, and delivering warm, efficient service. Because we cater to a mix of I-95 road travelers, business guests, and local visitors, we need someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and values shift-to-shift teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Check-In & Check-Out: Process guest arrivals and departures smoothly using the hotel's Property Management System (HotelKey). Verify guest details, handle payment transactions, and issue room keys.
- Customer Engagement: Provide warm, attentive, and professional customer service. Share local area recommendations (dining, attractions along I-95/Roanoke Rapids) and answer guest questions about hotel amenities.
- Problem Resolution: Address guest concerns, special requests, or room preferences quickly and professionally, escalating to management only when necessary.
- Reservations & Phone Management: Answer incoming calls, assist with room bookings, process cancellations, and transfer calls to appropriate departments.
- Audit & Cash Handling: Balance cash drawers, process credit card charges, manage guest folios, and maintain accurate shift paperwork.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to monitor room statuses, guest requests, and property needs. Ensure a smooth shift handoff for the overnight team at 11:00 PM.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous hotel front desk experience preferred (Opera / IHG PMS experience is a huge plus!), but strong customer service or retail experience will be considered.
- Schedule Flexibility: Primary availability needed for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift, including weekends and holidays. Ability to cover morning (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or night audit shifts on occasion is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using computer reservation systems, managing multiple phone lines, and handling basic math/transactions.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and resourceful during peak check-in hours.
