What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Desk Agent / Night Audit position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ontario Airport?
We are seeking a dedicated individual who can fulfill both Front Desk Agent and Night Auditor responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be able to provide excellent guest service during the day and perform accurate auditing and reporting duties at night.
Job Description:
- Prepare and distribute reports to management and other departments
- Perform night audit duties including reviewing and balancing daily financial transactions
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Weekend availability
- Assist guests with inquires, requests, and resolving any issue or complaints
- Maintain accurate records of guest accounts and transactions
- Operate phone systems and handle incoming calls professionally
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees.
- Upsell additional facilities and services when appropriate
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ need
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
- Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
- Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently handling objects and equipment.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Will be required to work mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays.

Experience:
- Hotel experience: 1 year (Preferred)
At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.

- Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles.
- Must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to resolve guest issues that may arise and respond to emergency situations.
- Must be proficient in Windows operating systems company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
