Job Title: Night Auditor
Location: Holiday Inn Express & Suites
Pay Rate: $15 per hour
Position Summary:
The Night Auditor is responsible for providing excellent guest service while completing nightly accounting and audit functions. This role involves ensuring a smooth and efficient transition between the night and day shifts, providing a warm welcome to guests arriving at night, assisting with guest needs, and maintaining the security of the property. The Night Auditor works independently, performing duties that require attention to detail, effective communication, and a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and Accounting:
- Complete end-of-day financial reports, reconcile daily transactions, and perform all audit procedures to ensure financial accuracy.
- Process guest payments, balance cash drawers, and ensure proper documentation of all accounts.
- Run daily credit card transactions and verify charges to ensure all accounts are accurate.
- Guest Services:
- Greet and assist late-night guests with check-in/check-out procedures, providing a positive guest experience.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services to enhance the guest experience.
- Safety and Security:
- Monitor the premises during the night shift to ensure guest safety and property security.
- Address any emergency situations according to hotel policy, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Maintain a log of all incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation.
- Administrative Duties:
- Prepare daily operational reports and complete any remaining tasks from the previous day.
- Assist in preparing breakfast items and setting up the breakfast area for the morning shift as required.
- Communicate any relevant information to the incoming day staff for a smooth transition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with audit functions.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management systems (prior experience with IHG systems is a plus).
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
