A hotel maintenance technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and preservation of a hotel's physical plant and grounds to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. This role combines technical expertise in building systems with a guest-first hospitality mindset.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to prevent major failures.
- Guest Room Repairs: Respond promptly to guest requests to fix issues like leaky faucets, clogged toilets, malfunctioning PTAC units, or broken furniture.
- General Upkeep: Execute "cosmetic" repairs including painting, drywall patching, carpet cleaning, and replacing light bulbs.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular checks of fire-life-safety systems (extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting) and maintain compliance with OSHA and local building codes.
- Specialized Facilities: Manage chemical levels and filtration systems for swimming pools, spas, and gyms.
- Grounds Maintenance: Oversee exterior tasks like landscaping, irrigation, trash removal, and seasonal snow or ice removal.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, preventative maintenance tasks.
Key Skills & Qualifications
