Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department by supervising room attendants, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, maintaining cleanliness standards, and ensuring a positive guest experience in accordance with IHG brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff.
- Assign work schedules and room assignments to room attendants.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with IHG standards.
- Ensure all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally.
- Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, safety, and customer service.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies and linen inventory; report shortages as needed.
- Coordinate with the Front Office and Maintenance departments to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrivals and maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping and resolve issues efficiently.
- Complete daily reports, inspections, and departmental documentation.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of housekeeping staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality qualification preferred).
- 1–3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel property management systems are an advantage.
