Job Description/Summary:
Responsible for attending to the needs of guests, especially during check-in and check-out.
Essential Job Functions:
- Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities.
- Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (Directions, places to eat, etc.).
- Selling rooms to “walk-in” guest.
- Entering/changing reservation information on the computer system.
- Posting charges to guest accounts.
- Processing payments from guests.
- Making necessary corrections to guest accounts.
- Informing housekeeping department about room status/availability.
- Listening for and responding to guest complaints.
- Operating hotel switchboard.
- Making room reservations.
- Cleaning the front desk area.
- Maintaining daily logs.
- Balancing shift work and cash drawers.
- Providing guests with welcome folders containing room keys, certificates, coupons, and refreshment center keys as appropriate
- Verifying and imprinting credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods, as well as handling cash, making change and balancing an assigned house bank
- Posting charges to guest room and House accounts using the computer
- Closing guest accounts at time of check out, and ascertaining guest satisfaction
- Responding to, and addressing guest complaints and concerns
- Summoning guest service personnel for assistance in escorting guests to their rooms as appropriate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.25 - $14.15 per hour
