Holiday Inn Express & Suites DFW Airport Southwest is seeking a Head Housekeeper to partner closely with the Operations Manager and ensure all aspects of housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance support our reputation for delivering genuinely memorable experiences to our guests.
About the role
In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee housekeeping, laundry, and day-to-day maintenance coordination to ensure our rooms, public areas, and building exterior are spotless, safe, and aligned with Brand quality standards. You will lead by example on the floor while managing schedules, inventory, and productivity for a growing, service-focused select-service hotel.
A day in the life
You will spend your day:
Managing, coaching, and developing housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance team members to consistently deliver exceptional cleanliness and service.
Handling guest complaints, room moves, and special requests with urgency and professionalism to keep every guest happy.
Inspecting guestrooms, suites, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and linen to ensure they exceed brand standards and guest expectations.
Assisting with deep-clean projects and jumping in with the team during peak periods when needed.
Directing and coordinating daily cleaning and maintenance activities, including routine and preventative maintenance in collaboration with the General Manager and maintenance staff.
Ensuring the proper appearance of the hotel from the parking lot, walkways, landscaping, service/trash areas, and building exterior all the way to the guestroom floors.
Maintaining inventory levels, conducting end-of-period supply counts, ordering at par, and managing operational expenses (labor, overtime, supplies) to hit CPOR and productivity targets.
Educating and holding the team accountable for compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, brand standards, and safety procedures.
Key responsibilities
In this leadership position, you will:
Directly supervise all housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance personnel and ensure proper completion of daily tasks and preventative maintenance.
Prepare, post, and manage weekly schedules for housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance; maintain proper staffing and track labor hours to standards.
Lead weekly departmental meetings and one-on-one check-ins, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition.
Enforce all existing and new policies and procedures and ensure team members follow Standard Operating Procedures and company uniform/appearance standards.
Read front office logs daily, understand and use the property management system, and coordinate open/close status of rooms for maintenance and out-of-order needs.
Conduct daily inspections of all vacant-ready rooms and follow up on any deficiencies to protect guest satisfaction scores and brand inspection results.
Complete a daily end-of-day activity/accomplishment email to the General Manager
Monitor and manage housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance supply inventory, code invoices correctly, and support budget preparation and expense control.
Be willing and able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays as needed, and fill in when other employees are not able to work their scheduled shift.
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
High school diploma or higher level education.
Minimum 3 years of hotel housekeeping or maintenance experience, including at least 1 year as Head/Executive Housekeeper or Maintenance Supervisor.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and hold a diverse team accountable while maintaining a positive work environment.
Effective communication skills, a professional and well-groomed appearance, and the ability to listen and resolve issues discreetly and respectfully.
Solid understanding of hotel operations, room types, brand standards, and basic property management system (PMS) navigation.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, time-management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical housekeeping tasks as needed.
